You take on the role of Commander Kreigson of United-Worlds Defence Corps, sent on a solo mission to a distant colony with which all contact was lost after an attack by an unknown alien force. The game bears a certain similarity to Bungie's Marathon a Mac exclusive as far as the setting and plot goes but runs on an engine comparable to that of Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold.

Your bio-suit also has many interesting instruments, including an infrared headlight and sonar. On-screen crosshairs automatically identify objects and lock on targets similar to System Shock , except that in Wrath of Earth you cannot jump or look up or down as the engine is not true 3D.

The game also features many NPCs similar to Strife , guided weapons, and many well-designed levels, both indoors and out. It unfortunately got very little attention when first released, owing largely to lack of marketing and shareware status.

It is high time it was given a fair shake. The essence of this game can be distilled to this: WoE has the ability to take you out of your seat and put you in the shoes of the protagonist. Turn off the lights, find a good set of headphones, and clear your schedule for the next eight hours. Block out the world for a time and you will become that lone soldier in the BTS suit.

And with the terrible knowledge that your mission is far, far from over. Know your enemies, watch your status, and at all times remember the Golden Rule of Battle In order to win you must defeat every enemy you encounter.
